Is it wrong to say we have a favorite plant? Because ficus altissima 'Yellow Gem' is that plant.
This beauty does best in the brightest indirect light under most household conditions. Vivid yellow & green variegated leaves fill out a branching growth pattern which can be pruned to remain a medium sized plant, or allowed to grow into a large specimen. Ficus can be finicky when stressed, so avoid drafts or dramatic cultural fluctuations; minor leaf loss may occur during shipping. Pot in a fast draining potting mix & water when top 2" of planting mix is dry. Also, tell your new 'Yellow Gem' we said hi & that we miss her.
