This begonia has deep forest-green leaves which reflect a rich dark blue sheen under bright angled lights. 'Taconite' (tass·o·nite) is a much less temperamental grower than some of its iridescent brethren and grows well under typical household conditions. A red reverse, petioles, and stems add extra drama to this beautiful plant, which can produce hand-sized leaves. Look for the lightest silver spotting, almost like velvet, which point to this hybrid begonia's lineage. Pot in a light, well draining mix like our tender tropicals potting mix, and provide bright to medium indirect light.
4" pot
*Lower levels of light will encourage the production of iridoplasts which produce 'Taconite's trademark blue, but remember, light is plant food and necessary for growth!
