Unlike the most commonly available orchids, ludisia discolor, or jewel orchid, is terrestrial plant which happily grows in a typical tropical potting mix. Velvety green leaves with pink pinstripes and a coppered-rose reverse are the true allure of ludisia discolor, making spikes of delicate white flowers a very sweet bonus. Provide bright to medium indirect light and allow the top inch of potting mix to dry between watering. Tolerates most household conditions: if you're comfy, they are too.
